Studied Assyriology, Semitic Studies and Ancient History at the LMU Munich, and studied abroad at Oxford (2002-2003; Erasmus) and Cairo (2003-2004; DAAD-Grant); Magister 2006; PhD 2013 (2006-2012 member of the Graduiertenkolleg "Formen von Prestige in Kulturen des Altertums"; 2007-2010 PhD grant awarded by the Studienstiftung des deutschen Volkes; 2013 prize awarded by the faculty of cultural studies for the thesis "Fragmente einer großen Sprache: Sumerisch im Kontext der Schreiberausbildung des kassitenzeitlichen Babylonien" ("Fragments of a great language: Sumerian in the context of scribal training in Cassite Babylonia").

Academic positions: LMU Munich (2009-2010 and 2011-2012) and Philipps-University Marburg (2010-2011 and 2012-2015).

Since August 2015 part of the research staff of Prof. Dr. Karen Radner.
