My research engages with issues of continuity and change in Assyria and Babylonia in the period ca. 1400 BCE to 100 CE, especially those relating to political power and the practices of cuneiform scholarship. A particular interest is the self-presentation of rulers and their ancient reception.

Professional Career

BA (Hons) in Classics and Oriental Studies (Akkadian), University of Oxford (2004-2008). MPhil 2012, PhD 2015 Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations (focus: Assyriology), Yale University (Dissertation: "Akkadian Royal Letters in Later Mesopotamian Tradition", adviser: Prof Eckart Frahm).

Academic appointments: Yale University 2016-2017 (Postdoctoral Fellow, "Cuneiform Commentaries Project"); Chester Beatty Library and Trinity College Dublin 2017 (Visiting Chester Beatty & Middle Eastern Studies Scholar).

May 2018 - March 2019: Researcher (E13) at the Chair of Prof Karen Radner.

April 2019 - März 2021: Humboldt Postdoctoral Fellowship at the Chair of Prof Karen Radner.
